Persistent Bad breath could lead to gum disease if unchecked – Dentist

A Dentist, Dr. Innocent Osazuwa, on Wednesday, said persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum disease.

He told NAN: “gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on the teeth caused by bacteria.

“Bacteria causes the formation of toxins which irritates the gum and if gum disease continues untreated, it can damage the gum and the jawbone.”

The dentist said that bad breath, also called ‘halitosis’, could be embarrassing and in some cases might even cause anxiety.

He added that “bad breath is often caused by a buildup of bacteria in your mouth that causes inflammation and gives off a noxious odor.

“Cleaning between teeth daily once a day is very important.

“This helps to remove plaque and food particles from between the teeth and under the gum line too.

“Tooth decay-causing bacteria still linger between teeth, where toothbrush bristles cannot reach.”

He explained that brushing the teeth twice a day with a soft-bristle brush and replacing the toothbrush every three or four months would help to eliminate bad breath.

He noted that the symptoms of bad breath vary, depending on the source or the underlying cause.

According to him, some people worry too much about their breath even though they have little or no mouth odor, while others have bad breath and do not know it.

He said the causes of bad breath include food, poor dental hygiene, use of tobacco products, the lack of balanced diet, wrong medications, dry mouth and the lack of drinking water.

He advised anyone with such a problem to see a dentist for treatment.

Health Benefits of Avocado to World

Avocado Fruit  is one of the best delicious and satisfying foods in the world, and its also a power house super food so far and scientifically known as  Persea americana.

This fruit is prized for its high value of nutrient and is added to various dishes due to its good flavor and rich texture. It is the main ingredient in guacamole.

Avocados are one of the most rich, delicious, and satisfying foods in the world. But as a health blogger, I am super happy to share the report than an avocado is a  nothing but a super food filling fruit.

One study out this year found that regular avocado eaters have higher intakes of fiber, vitamins E and K, magnesium and potassium–pretty darn impressive! I eat avocado in at least one meal each day, and I love how versatile they are for cooking (more on that below), but there's also more health-related news to share.

Here are the  avocado health benefits to the world

They boost satiety:

Eating good fats helps to slow stomach emptying, which keeps you fuller longer and delays the return of hunger. Avocados, which provide about 22 grams of fat each (mostly as heart healthy monounsaturated fatty acids, or MUFAs), certainly fit the bill. The addition of half of an avocado to meals resulted in a significant boost in self-reported satiety and a reduced desire to eat for up to five hours.

 Waist whittlers

According to a recent survey, Americans are still fat-phobic, probably due to the notion that eating fat makes you fat. But the truth is eating the right types of fat is actually a savvy weight-loss strategy. In addition to upping satiety, plant-based fats like avocado provide antioxidants and fight inflammation, which have both been linked to weight management. That may be why recent research revealed that regular avocado eaters weigh less and have smaller waists, even without eating fewer calories.

 Protect your ticker

The MUFAs in avocados have been shown to slash "bad" LDL cholesterol, and up "good" HDL levels–a double whammy effect that helps to lower the risk of heart disease, the #1 killer of both men and women. Avocados are also a source of potassium, a nutrient that helps reduce blood pressure by acting as a natural diuretic to sweep excess sodium and fluid out of the body, which relieves pressure on the heart and arteries (bonus: that also means avocado is a natural de-bloater!).

Nutrient boosters

Enjoying avocado at mealtime can help your body absorb more antioxidants from other healthy foods. Another recent study found that pairing avocado with tomato sauce and carrots boosts absorption of the veggies' vitamin A, a key nutrient needed for healthy skin, vision, and immunity.

Trump says HIV will be defeated in the US by 2030

President Donald Trump has announced plans to rid the US of new transmissions of HIV by the year 2030. He made this known during his 2019 State of the Union address.

Government scientist have been working for months on ways to prevent spread of the disease by working to provide better treatment for those already infected.

“In recent years we have made remarkable progress in the fight against HIV and AIDS,” Trump told the nation.

“Scientific breakthroughs have brought a once-distant dream within reach. My budget will ask Democrats and Republicans to make the needed commitment to eliminate the HIV epidemic in the United States within 10 years.”

“Together, we will defeat AIDS in America and beyond,” the president said.

The U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary, Alex Azar II, described the project’s goals by stating that if the plan succeeds, the United States will,

“become a country where the spread of HIV has been effectively halted, because every American with HIV/AIDS is receiving treatment and every American at risk for HIV is engaged in the right, proven prevention strategy,” Azar said.
